DOST researchers urge Filipinos to handle meals waste downside




 

MANILA, Philippines — After conducting a examine on the Philippines’ meals waste, researchers from the Division of Science and Expertise (DOST) urged the private and non-private sectors to handle meals waste issues.

In a press release on Thursday, the DOST stated that in its analysis whereby they assessed family plate waste within the nation, they discovered that Filipino customers’ high meals waste is rice, vegetable, and meat.

In response to the examine, 39% of Filipino households had rice waste, 11% had vegetable waste, and eight% had meat waste.

The DOST stated the Philippines had 930 million tons of meals waste in 2019 alone.
